Feet don't fail me now.

So when I started running again and training a little for the 1/2 marathon I was running in my Nike Free Cross trainers...

and I love them. But running shoes they are not. My feet were taking a beating. Good for the elliptical, not good for anything else.

So then, I thought, Hey the free cross trainers are great, so I'll get the free runs and they'll be my solution. So I got these....

Got them in the mail, wore them constantly immediately and soon after my right foot was hurting so bad I could hardly walk, then knee pain, then hip pain. wow. no thank you. Not for me.

So then I decided to quit guessing and go to Fleet Feet. So while we were in Stockton, we went. and they recommended these:

Problem NOT solved. So Sadly, the Nike Free Runs have already been returned and the Sauconys are going back on Monday. I am at my wits end on this shoe thing. The one pair that has been working for me and helping to heal my heel pain has been my old school trashed Nike Shox from about 8 years ago. But I know it's not smart to be running ten and twelve miles in beaten down shoes. So here I am again going back online to try and find some shoes that will just make me not hurt. That's all I want! They don't hve to make me magically faster or give me more endurance, they just have to NOT HURT.
We'll see how it goes. There are three pair in my Zappos shopping cart right now. I will get them, run them in to the ground and then send the 2 that don't work the best back. Hopefully one pair WILL work. Who knew I had such picky feet? I have never had problems with my feet before...ever. It just goes to show that when you have a pain and you don't rest and let it heal, it will just expound. I know this, but taking a day off is a ruined day for me. I am antsy and agitated all day long if I don't do SOMETHING. Hopefully these shoes I am ordering will help. Until then I will keep rocking my old school trashed Nike Shox. I literally think I have had them since like 2004. Oldies but goodies for sure.

Good effort Meg! However, I think you're best bet is going to be to go to a running store where they will help you find the right shoe for you, by looking at your feet and watching you run and walk. However it is a little different than our usual shoe shopping because you don't get pick the cute pair or the color, they pick the best brand and shoe for you. You must have such a store in Lancaster, right?

That's what FLEET FEET in Stockton is. I went there. It didn't work. They watched me walk, asked me a thousand questions etc. I bought their ugly shoes to no avail. :(
