Gooood reading!

So both girls were down by ten after seven tonight and I thought Addison was asleep but I can now hear her turning pages in her bed. lol. I always leave her door cracked and tell her that I am doing so in case she wants to read, cuz that cracks me up, but apparently tonight she took me up on it. Good reading Adds!

Nigh Nigh Nap

Nigh Nigh Naaaaaap is what Addison told me tonight when we got home. It was dark out and she looked at the moon, said "Goodbye Moon" and then told me "Nigh Nigh Naaaap Mom-mom". I laughed and asked her if she wanted to go to bed. YES!
Your wish is my command. =) I know my luck will have to run out sooner or later, but she has almost always gone to bed soooo good. Thank you for being such a big girl Addi. You are so sweet when you are tired and laughed hysterically when I was putting your jammies on tonight. I have no idea why you thought it so funny, but it was very cute.

Another fun thing tonight....Robbie put Allie down for like the second time EVER in her almost nine month life. Don't get me wrong, he is NOT a slacker, he just always takes Addi and I take Allie. But tonight we did a switcheroo and it was nice. It's always nice when he's home to help, I appreciate his help. When he's at work I let Addison watch a few minutes of TV in her chair downstairs while I take Allie up and put her down. Then I come back down, get Addi and we head up to put her to bed. It's really easy because Addison just chills downstairs watching her show, even if i am slow to put Allie down. Its nice that Addi is so patient, cuz I am definitely guilty of snuggling Allie way longer than technically necessary. =) Then once Allie is in bed Addi and I have time to read books and say prayers and sing songs. She loves it when i make up silly songs about our day and about our friend the "Addi-Monster" who she calls "PINK-ROOOOOOOAR" and makes a monster face. I don't know why, she just does. =) With everyone asleep by 7:45 I have plenty of time to do house stuff and surf the internet and work on my primary stuff and watch the tv that I want to watch. You girls are so sweet and such good girls. (Most of the time ;). I enjoy you and I love you so so so.

And then there were two. =) Teethies!

Here are a couple pics of the aforementioned teeth. Big girl!
and I guess we are going to find out early if Allie is allergic to peanut butter as Addison "shared" with her today. nice.

Okay, amidst the junk that Elaine drug down here in the piecer firebird there was a single treasure.....

I have begun reading Addison stories from this book and they are really great classics. Thanks Aunt Carol! These stories are timeless. =)

Jabber jaws

Addison has really come in to her own with talking. It's so so cute. She just says new words all day long now and I love it. And she's putting words together in to phrases more too. Agh! i love it!! It's so exciting.
Tonight while we were saying prayers she started repeating some of the words I was saying and she wanted to say prayers over and over. She was leading me by the end. So exciting. I just looked at her cute little face and saw her again brand new. She's amazing. I feel, without a doubt, that I am the luckiest woman in the world to be the mother of these babies. They make me cry in joy all the time. Robbie doesn't even ask what's wrong anymore, he just smiles and shakes his head. But I can't help it. They make me feel.

Rockstar helper

Addison has reached rockstar helper status. After nap today we did a load of laundry together then came downstairs, she picked up all her toys by herself and put them away, put her shoes away in the closet, then helped me unload the dishwasher. As soon as the brownies cool she will get to help me frost and decorate them for Daddy. Terrible twos??? not yet! =).... YaY! Thanks for being such a big girl Addi!
* Please don't misunderstand this post. Addison DOES spend time on the naughty stair from time to time. She is, after all, my daughter. =)

What a Day

It has been quite a day.
I was sick throwing up all last night (no I am not pregnant or trying) and so I was exhausted. Rob was working and fighting with large drunk men and ended up taking a guy to "big boy jail" (as he calls IRC) in LA and then coming home to take the girls while I got some sleep, then we traded and he slept and now thank heavens he is working from home tonight on all his paperwork so he was here to help while I recover. whew! craziness.
The girls of course are perfect little angels and made this whole ordeal easier than possible. They are amazing. but I missed them while I was in bed today. It was weird to hear them playing and not be down there with them. But Rob is awesome and they probably enjoyed having a Daddy day.
The most exciting thing is that Allie got her second tooth today!
I swear I am so lucky with babies and teething. Even with Addison we could never even tell she was getting teeth and then all of the sudden there they would be....same with Allie. We are lucky. Sweetie girls.

A day at the Pumpkin Patch

What a fun day! It has been really cool and nice here this last little while and it has helped us get in the fall mood even more. Yesterday we visited Lombardi Ranch in Santa Clarita. Shane and Tovah met us there and it was so much fun.
They had a pumpkin patch, corn maze, rides on a horse drawn carriage and rides on a tractor pulled "train". They also had live music and a petting zoo. We all had so much fun and will definitely be making this a fall family tradition.

Sweet big sister

Look at those blue blue eyes...and Addison's Farrah Fawcett hairdo.
So the other day at the store I was walking beside the cart feeding Allie a bottle of apple juice as I shopped. Addison, being the big helper that she is, reached back, took the bottle out of my hand and held it for Allie all the way to car while Allie fell asleep. SWEET. So now Addison is the boss of the bottle. and is really very good and patient with it. She fed Allie another juice bottle today while they were in the double stroller at the mall. nice! Thanks Adds!

sweet sweet moments

It's 7:35 and both girls are in bed. Allie is asleep and Addi is in her bed singing.
Allie just fell asleep on me while I was rocking her cheek to cheek. I just sat there for like fifteen minutes rocking her and soaking it up.
I am so lucky. so so lucky.
I love you girls. I am so thankful for you.

The Organization of Children

Robbie and I were talking today about having another baby.
Among other things, this brings in so many new and exciting logistical questions. Which room will our new baby have? Will we move the girls in together? Addison will need a big girl bed because the new baby will need a crib. We just painted the office grey, but apparently we will need to repaint and make that a nursery? Unless we move the girls in together. Ahh so many things. We have four bedrooms upstairs and the loft, but the loft is out of the question, its the playroom. Maybe move the office downstairs to the guest bedroom? or put the girls together and put the new baby in one of their rooms?
I love the idea of the girls sharing a room, I shared with Amber forever and at one time shared with Amber and Angela! It was good for us. I have good memories of sharing.
The question is whether or not they are too little to share. When are they big enough? So many fun questions. =)

Great Quote...

The cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, For children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow. So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep.

Fun Day

This is Addison and I preparing to make a pizza in our matching strawberry shortcake aprons. Thanks Grandma Vandecar!

This is Addison's dream come true. Our neighbors got this at a summer clearance but then realized that it was too small for their kids, so yay, we bought it from them! Thanks Allen and Danielle!! and we went tonight and got Allie a baby swing so we are all set for tomorrow. Can't wait!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......

Both girls slept from 7:45 last night to 7:20 this'morning. This is what Addison does every single night, however Allie has been a different story. But as she is no longer only breast fed, I have been hoping for better sleeping results. lol. I got them. and I am so hoping for a repeat performance. One bottle a day is gooood.
Although I did wake up at 4 in a panic and had to go check on them. Then just dozed from then until Rob got home at 7. I am not hoping for a repeat performance of that.

I also tried a new thing and Allie loves it. First I gave her oatmeal, like big kid style and she loved it, then I bought Yo Baby Organic yogurts, she loves those too. They are so yummy. I get the kind with yogurt and cereal and fruit all in one. yuuum. Anywho, tonight I mixed the oatmeal in with the yo baby and she could not get enough. I tried it and it was seriously good. If you have a baby - give it to them, they will love you for it. =)

Eat eat eat!

Allie is so darn sweet. I can't say it enough.
She smiles almost all the time and loves her sister so much.
We are also super lucky because she is a fantastic eater. (I can hear the teasing now. don't listen to your sister. you are not chubby)
She eats what we eat and then I supplement here and there with a little bit of baby food. She is not a fan of baby food.
She loves chicken, pasta and any fruit or veggie (except green bean baby food, but she loves just regular green beans, so weird.) But today I finally found something she will SPIT OUT : Cottage Cheese. Poor baby. She made a terrible face, ate two bites and then just could not eat any more. Sad but cute.
Another fun thing. She totally gets a sippy cup. I have been putting it to her lips since she was little and then Grandma Vandecar gave her one last week while she was here and she got it. Then today I gave her one of apple juice with her lunch and away she went. No dribbles or anything. I was very surprised, Addi was a mess when she started the sippy. Yay!
Such a big girl!!

UPDATE: For the first time Allie just had half a bowl of big kid oatmeal and loooved it. When I was putting her down she smelled like maple syrup. Yummmmm

Oh and just real quick, here are Addi's stats from her 2 year old well baby check up:
70% for height
50th for weight
and 98% for head circumference. Rob says she gets this from my family....this may be true. But he forgot that bigger heads mean bigger brains. LOL!
