Yep. sick. Allie went to bed way before the other girls tonight as she was laying on the floor brushing her teeth. I think that's a pretty good sign she needs her bed; now I can hear her in there coughing. Poor sweet baby.

Uh Oh
I think sickness has hit our house. Evelyn had a touch of flu like symptoms on Sunday and Monday but is better now. I woke up with a sore throat a couple morning ago but have just been taking some Tylenol. Allie has something going on now...yesterday she had a terrible headache but seemed better this morning. She woke up from nap with bright red cheeks and a fever...poor baby. Please let this pass quickly and please let me not get it terribly as I am running Huntington Beach half this weekend! She is now laying on the couch resting...we'll see.....

Platter Rack
These three jars lined up were soooo cheap and cute. $5.47 at Walmart. Can't beat that.
They were the only containers I bought for this whole project. Everything else was either already in the pantry or scrounged up around this house. Robbie laughs and shakes his head every time he sees me buying, "more bins". But considering I never pay full price for them and they always come out saving the day, I am gonna keep on doing it! LOL

POTTY TRAINED!!!
But my Sweet Evelyn Macie is now potty trained!
Here's how it happened...
On the afternoon of December 26th I had a moment.
In motherhood I think all women experience such moments and for me it went like this....I was enjoying the fruits of my labor, Christmas morning was over and we were basking in the glow of playing with gifts and watching the girls be overjoyed with their stuff and everyone was happy and everything was perfect and then Macie had a dirty poopy disgusting smelly diaper. And it was in that second that I decided very simply- "This is ridiculous, she is too old for this - potty training starts NOW". As in, that instant, and it did.
Now, because we do the intense "3 day potty training" plan and it has worked beautifully for us in the past, we of course went with it again. For those of you not familiar, this means that from that exact second Macie has never worn another diaper. Not at night, not while riding in the car. No diapers, no pullups, no nothing. That's how we roll.
So I cleaned her up, threw all diapers in sight in her closet, and introduced Evelyn to panties. Had the pep talk about how she was big now like sisters and we had to give diapers to babies only. Then I took her downstairs and broke the news to Robbie. To which he said, "What? You mean NOw??" Yes. Now. Because, due to my "moment", I had no choice. I have been changing dirty diapers for AT LEAST once child for five and a half years. More often, for two children. I was absolutely positively DONE. (I think I nearly "snapped") So ya, NOW!
And we have never looked back. She never peed in her bed, (none of my children ever have on this plan) or in her car seat. Done.
From day one, the problem was never accidents, it was the fact that she had no interest in going. The first day she held her peepee for 15 hours, the second day 12 hours. I seriously thought she was going to give herself a UTI. But she didn't and now it's no big deal to go. She still is not excited about going poops, but she's going as necessary. It's all good and she is done. and I am done! No more diapers, EVER EVER EVER. That is pure joy to me!
Good job Evelyn and good job Allie and Addison who have been amazingly helpful cheerleaders through this whole process. Best big sisters everrrrrr.

It warms my heart when I open a cupboard and find something random there, something out of place that doesn't belong. It reminds me that my husband helps. and for that I am thankful.

I love Valentine's Day
I just realized I didn't do the bows once I got it all up there straight. It was freakishly hard to get it straight even though I put a level on the nails themselves. The drape was harrrrd.
Can you tell? :)

It's coming along!
Okay, I think everything has found a spot. Thanks to the additional shelf that Robbie put in at the top of the pantry, it feels like my space has REALLY grown. A huge thank you to Robbie for making the new shelf match almost exactly the old shelves. YES! My contractor is AWESOME! ;)

Pantry. :))
I think I am loving this house more and more every day. Today I am taking wrapping paper I found in the Target dollar bin and lining the back of my pantry with it. LOVE THIS PAPER!!

Second project of today...
Again using stuff I already had I put this bulletin board on the inside of the pantry door. I was actually sitting at the computer on amazon ready to order the bulletin board when I remembered these two that used to hang in the guest room. So I went digging in that closet and lo and behold there they were. I pulled them out, repainted the black on the edges and voila! Ready to hang. Love it and super functional.

Todays first little project
I needed some help organanizing my spice cabinet. So instead of going and buying a plastic contraption, I utilized our scrap wood pile and some contact paper i already had....mission accomplished amd a custom fit. These are the scraps left over after Robbie cut my pieces of wood for the project, cheap 2 by 4s.

These are tiny, but it's the best I could do. They want an arm and a leg for the actual files. But if you click on them, they get bigger. :)

Hmmmm
I had never had a poptart until my junior year of college....when Robbie offered me half of one he was eating.
Today at the store my 3 and 5 year olds both pointed and got very excited over the "tarts" and these were quickly in our cart...seriously? put there by- please enter the guy who introduced me to "chocolate chip" pancakes...which just strikes me as dessert for breakfast. So between the "tarts", the pancakes, and the poppyseed muffins (cake), this family's breakfast habits are in need of some tuning up.
