Bath time giggles

Santa Monica Pier

So on Sunday afternoon we were a little stir crazy after church. I was craving being outside, but it was literally 103 degrees. yuck. So Rob asked if I wanted to go to the beach. We all said YES! So we threw some stuff in a bag and 15 minutes later we were on the way to the beach. One hour and 30 degrees later, we were in Santa Monica. We had planned on being in the sand and water, but the rides on the pier called our names. Addi and Rob got unlimited ride wristbands and off we went. They rode every single ride Addi was big enough to ride more than once. They had a blast! and Allie was a little smiley angel all day in her front pack. So fun.

Once the sun went down we really felt the ocean breeze and got to wear COATS! I was so excited!!

This is Adds and I in the ferris wheel that went out over the ocean. I was terrified the first half of the ride but Addison was never even hesitant. She is definitely a thrill seeker.

My new island.

Words can absolutely not express how much I love my new island and these pictures absolutely do not do it justice. It's darker than the pictures show and it's rugged and classic all at the same time and I love it so much. I can't stop staring at it. Spencer and Amber came in late Friday night and left early Sunday morning. I am so thankful they came all the way down to work on it. Thank you Spencer!!!!!!!!!

We did atleast take them out to Red Lobster for dinner on Saturday, so it wasn't ALL work. Addison is getting uncle Spencer with her crab claw. lol. funny girl, she thought herself hilarious.

Allie loved the cheddar biscuits but didn't like the garlic mashed potatoes and Addison LOVED the lobster pizza and the popcorn shrimp. yummmmm

BFF

We went to Riverside a couple weeks ago for Heather's housewarming party. It was so much fun. Here's a pic of my bff and her boy Beau. love them.

Heather's excellent Lancaster Vaca

Now I know that Lancaster is not the most desirable vacation spot, however, we LOVED having Heather here for a few days. She brought with her all of her skills which we put to good use including a pedi for Addison (her first one), painting skills and cake decorating skills. I am not sure Heather had a fantastic time, but we did! lol. Thank you Heather!!!

No Heather did not get arrested, she went on a ride along with Robbie one night. She loved it I think. I am not sure who had more fun, Rob or Heather. Probably Rob since Heather was sure every car they stopped was going to shoot at her. lol

Heather also helped me paint the girl's bathroom HOT pink. I know it sounds hideous but it's my favorite color in the house and it turned out GREAT. When Addison walks by it she still gets excited and goes in and pets the walls. She loves her new bathroom. It turned out great but I am leaving the rest of the painting in this house to the pros!

A day of Firsts

Today is a strange day.
I feel like my babies are growing up too fast. I told Robbie that I wish they grew at half the speed they do.
Today Allie ate puffs. You know those little melt in your mouth puffs, sweet potato. Her first time and she loved them. Right before that, she crawled for the first time and right before that she ate canned peaches with Addison. How do I have two babies that can eat canned peaches? Allie is still supposed to be nursing only. (in my mind anyway)
And to really top off this day, they both went to bed at the same time. =( Addison was in her crib (I did not even get through one book tonight before she kissed me, grabbed her stuff and pointed to her bed) at 7:30pm and Allie right after her at 8. Both are sound asleep, I just checked them.
I always go in to Addi's room and cover her up because she kicks her covers off before she falls asleep. Well when I walked in to her room tonight I had the thought, oh my goodness, i need to check Allie too. So sad that she is big enough to need to be "checked".
and now here I am at 9:20pm and I do not know what to do with myself.

The Girls

Just a couple of cute pics i just snapped.

Look at those eyes...and her nutella face

Her sweet smile is contagious

Independent As Well...

Okay, Addison has always been an independent girl. Never a snuggler, always a tough girl. I have accepted that. It's ok. But now it has gotten worse.
The routine prior to a week ago was to sit in the rocker, read her two books, sing a couple songs, say prayers, go to bed. Now this past week or so I am lucky if I get through the books before she is asking to get in her bed. She grabs her blanket, books and cup and is like "bye Mom, 'night". S A D!!!!!
No snuggling, no nothing. I know I should be thankful and I really am glad she is not a whiny, but seriously, that was my one snuggle time with her. Now...gone. Hopefully it'll come back someday. I just want you to snuggle me ADDI!!!
I love you anyway.

Lil' Miss Independent

Allie has now slept in her own bed the last few nights, going to bed around 9 and getting up around 5 to 6am. I run and get her and bring her to bed with me then. I can't stand not to. She then sleeps until around 9 or so, sometimes later.
I thought Addison was a typical sleeper and maybe she was, but Allie is SO much easier at this stage.

fashion girl

Rob caught her on video the other day, she will pick these shoes EVERY time she is in my closet and the other day made it from my closet all the way downstairs with them on without any problem. Kinda scary. She walks in them better than many twenty year olds I have seen. Yikes.

Sad Mommy

Allie has been sleeping in her own bed the past three nights. When she woke up at like 1 I would grab her and take her to bed with me. Well last night I put her to bed around 9ish and she didn't make a peep until 6.
I know I should be cheering, but I am sad.
I took her to bed with me for a nap today and got some snuggling in. Thank heavens.
It's breaks my heart. She is so little! Only 5 months old and already in her own bed. Sad, but what can I do when she wakes up so happy and so well rested. I can't argue with that.

Girls in beds

Yes you read right, I said girlS. Plural.
Allie is in her own bed right now for the first time. She has only been in it for twenty minutes, so we'll see how it goes.
I feel so sad!

Traveling

I love this pic, it was taken when we flew in to OC from Oregon. Al was totally cracking up and Addison was taking her responsibility verrrry seriously. lol.
Thanks to Elaine for Addison's adorable pants and I love that we had matching ones for Allie. Adorable.

Soo funny!

This is def. for the girls....
Okay so I was sitting in the office today and had Allie on my lap. Addison was running around in there with her toothbrush fanatically brushing her teeth. (She will have healthy teeth her whole life I have no doubt, it's her favorite thing to do). Anyway, she is being silly and throws her toothbrush up in the air and it hits the ground, for some reason, Allie thinks this is hilarious and starts cracking up. So Addison picks up her toothbrush, shows Allie and does it again. This went on for at least five minutes and both girls were just dying laughing.
I just sat there and watched. It was so fun to just sit and watch them interact on their own, doing their own thing. I just sat and watched them be happy together and make each other happy. It made my heart warm.
I know that you girls will have many more experiences together, just you two, over the years. I just wanted you to know about this very first one. I love you both, you make me so happy.

Almost crawling!

Allie is amazing. She is just so strong for only four months. She can already get up on her hands in push up position and up on her knees as well....just not at the same time yet. =) She is starting to army crawl already, and when just playing around she moves backwards. (I think her arms are dominant over her legs right now, lol).
She is SO fun!! and loves her sister soooo much, she smiles when she sees her coming.
