We woke up today to beautiful cloudy skies. I love cloudy desert weather, especially in August in southern California. It has been such a mild summer.
We had a mellow morning and then this afternoon had Melissa and Landon over to play with Adds on the slip and slide. FUN! Both kids had a great time I think. Then we brought the Barbie car out and Adds had fun with that and then the neighbors came out to play too. Yay! fun day.
Then tonight we realized we gotta move Allie's bed down to the bottom. I went in just now and she was entertaining herself (instead of sleeping) by standing herself up at the bars of the crib. That's Robbie's job for tomorrow. =) Big Girl. breaks my heart to see her growing so fast.

Where do I start?

So many things...ok first and most exciting to me....Allie crawled to the recliner today and grabbed hold and stood herself up. Yes I know this is impossible as she is only 6 months old, but it's true. and she proceeded to continue doing it all afternoon. Like nothing. no problem at all.
I didn't remember Adds doing it this early so I grabbed the BLOG BOOK (more on that later!) and looked. Addison didn't start pulling herself up until shortly after 7 months old and here Allie is less than six and a half! Is it even possible to have a busier child than Addison?? I thought not. I pause to compare the girls on anything as I am sure they will rub it in each other's faces later. (you had better not!) But I just cannot wrap my head around the thought of another child as coordinated as Addison. People can never believe how old she is when we take her to the park, and now Allie is showing us her moves. Craziness but I love it.
I just told Rob that Allie did it before Addison did and his response- of course- was "good, the sooner she's up and running the better!". Of course. lol, another crazy child to wrestle with is all he's thinking.

Okay, the Blog Book. Yes it is here, and yes it is everything I dreamed of and more. I did it from Addison's birth through 2008 and from now on I will have each year published. I am so excited. It'll be our family's journal of sorts, (although I still keep my own personal journal as well). The picture quality is great and the shiny pages and slick cover are so beautiful. It's so special to me and I know that over the years we will all love looking back. love it. Rob has tomorrow off so we are going to show it to Addison, I can't wait to see her reaction to seeing herself in a book.

So the fair started today. Excuse me, I mean the Antelope Valley Fair and Alfalfa Festival started today. lol, yep still making me laugh every time. We visited briefly this afternoon, cruised through the animal barns, smelled the stink and got the heck outta there! Experienced some fair food this year (always the best part), and realized that Allie may possibly have a little temper in her. We had the girls in the double stroller and Addison was enjoying her chicken strip. Allie apparently wanted to enjoy it as well and grabbed at the chicken agressively. Lucky for Adds she saw it coming and held it out of Allie's reach. Addison was pretty shocked and Allie was pretty MAD. Yikes grabby Allie. So Rob fed Allie chicken and both girls were happy until Addison busted out the puffies and it all started again. And it was funny cuz Addison would feed Allie a puffy whenever I asked her to, but that wasn't enough, Allie wanted the whole container and would throw herself toward Addison in an attempt to grab it. I see many tug of wars in our future, and Allie is no shrinking violet, so this could get interesting.

**One more thing---for those of you who don't know....super glue and small children do not mix. Addison got in to my bucket of nail stuff today while she was supposed to be doing an art project at the bar. Well lets just say she glued herself to everything. She has super glue all over her little legs, fingers and one elbow. Not sure how she got it there, but I feel horrible. She never gets in to stuff like that, but that's what I get for leaving her for a whole five minutes. Apparently the nail bucket is irresistible. AGH and Robbie was just saying last night that he can't wait for Addison to cut her own hair. he's crazy. I hope that is NOT next.

Sharing is Caring

It is getting SO fun with these two girls. I can't believe they're mine. Like I get to keep them. Every day forever. That still blows my mind. They are getting to be more and more fun every day with all the interaction. Addison makes it that way by being so sweet to her sister instead of jealous or mean. I am lucky!

Sitting Pretty

Yay Allie is so big! Yesterday she was crawling and then she configured her little self to sitting down on her haunches and playing with a toy. First time! Big girl!

Best Friends

I have had a great morning. It's our 8 year anniversary, and Rob showed up with a present and flowers. Always good. =) and he loved the gift I got him.
It's a mouse for the computer that is a highway patrol camaro. boys.

But right now is the best part. Allie is in her high chair eating her cheerios, Addison is sitting at the bar across from her eating her mandarin oranges. Then I hear Allie laughing. I turn around and Addison is playing peekaboo to her and loving that she can make Allie laugh and smile. Addison, you are an amazing big sister. Allie loves you so much.
**Please remember this moment when you are both in Jr High and fighting over jeans.

books books books

Addison you are obsessed with books right now and have been for a couple months. Any book you can find, you will be leafing through it "reading" it. I saw you today "reading" my sunday school manual. lol. good reading!
I just put you to bed and I counted 14 books in your bed and when Daddy put you down last night he tried to be sneaky and remove some of them...you busted him and held out your hands and said "books!" in a very stern voice. You meant business! Naughty Daddy!

Movin'!

Today Al is on the move. She caught up with me in the kitchen unexpectedly. She even crawled over to the bean bag and the next thing i knew she was standing up at it. She is moving around more and more every day and getting faster and faster. It's crazy.

Good morning books

I just got up and went in to peek at Addison and she is awake and sitting in her bed reading her books. I totally thought she was still asleep. I wonder if she does this every morning? and for how long?

Ranch

These are of her dipping her brownie in her ranch. Rob gave her the option as a joke and then tried to take it away thereafter. Bad idea. She dipped and ate every bite. Addi you are funny and a little gross. =)

Addison has discovered ranch. Big time. In the last week she has eaten it on the following foods:
1- peanut butter and jelly sandwich
2- a brownie (this is by far the grossest)
3- peas and carrots

I am sure there are many more to come because on the occasion she doesn't want to eat something, just bust out the ranch and she's good to go. lol.

Allie Babs

Allie is adorable. I cannot even put it in to words how sweet and cute she is. Today she had her six month check up. She is in the 25% for weight and the 60% for height. Tall and lean just like her sister. She also had to have three shots. I hate shots. I nursed her afterward and then by the time we got to the elevator she was smiling at the other lady who stepped in with us. Another little tough girl.

The Book!

Yes! The book that is the blog has been ordered and I am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. USPS says it has left NY and is now in PA. I am hoping it will be here Monday. Addison is SO in to books right now and she is gonna FLIP when she can see herself as the pictures! I CANNOT wait!
Today while I was doing laundry she sat in her chair in her b and "read" her books by herself for twenty minutes. I love it. She also asked great grandma to read her her 4 new books today over and over four times. YES!

Kevin Bacon Mania!

I just talked to Rob and he is working a detail for the TV show The Closer with Kyra Sedgwick....more importantly, her hubby Kevin Bacon IS ON THE SET. Robbie just ate breakfast two seats down from him. AGH! I am SO jealous!
I was never a huge fan until he did the Footloose cameo on Will and Grace. Now I am kind of in love.
