We just got back from four days in Las Vegas and I am exhausted!
Robbie had a softball tournament there for CHP on the weekend, so we went over on Thursday and got to spend a couple days with Great Grandma. It was so fun! Then Sat. and Sunday nights we went in to town and stayed at the Southpoint which is a newer hotel off the strip. We really liked it a lot and will stay there again. Grandma came over to watch Rob's games on Sat. and then stayed and babysat Adds while Robbie and I went swimming at the pool and hung out. I don't know who had more fun. Addi and Grandma are partners in crime for sure!
But the trip was not without crisis. =) We had our first medical emergency in the form of sunscreen in the eyes on Sunday at the games. Then later that night at the Wynn, twenty or so of us are having dinner and I am chatting away when all of the sudden people are shouting my name. I turn and look at Adds and she is barfing EVERYWHERE. Poor child. I grab her high chair and pull her to me and she is just sitting there like "what is going on?" If I hadn't been the mom I would have just cried right there. But I held it together and reassured her.
Thankfully I had a clean set of clothes so we went to the car and changed her out of her clothes and snuggled and relaxed. Then we went back in to get all of our stuff (we ran out in a hurry), and she sat on my lap and just laid there. You know my girl....she NEVER just lays anywhere unless she is asleep. But she did and she barfed one more time. So sad. But thankfully the Howell's were there and they seriously saved the day. They have three kids of their own and know everything. I got Adds calmed down and then took her to them and they totally reassured me that yes I was right it was probably teething. She had a little fever, had had her hands in her mouth for two days and wouldn't eat anything. So they put ice cubes inside the cloth napkin and she went to town on it. She was crunching those ice cubes like crazy and just kept pushing it in her mouth when I would try to put new ice in it. Poor baby, those teethies were really hurting. Hopefully those new ones will poke through soon, I feel so sad for her.
We went back to the hotel and I fed her a bottle on my bed and she was out, so i just laid her down and we snuggled until about five and she was ready for her own bed. So I had Robbie bring the portacrib to right by my bed and laid her in it and she slept great. So that was reassuring. The next day she was still bothered by the teeth, but better. Whew! What a trip!
This is Addison helping herself to some grapes in the fridge. Gram opened the door for one sec and turned to the sink...next thing we knew, Addison was in the fridge! so cute. Ofcourse her mountain climber shoes helped. (Thanks Auntie Amber)
