marathon day

I am having one of those days that seems so long. All good, but long.
I looked at the pictures I posted this morning of the park breakfast picnic and had to check the date twice...it doesn't seem like that could have just happened this morning! But we have had a great and busy day and I got a great run in while they were napping. 7.5 miles actually felt kinda great. WHoo hoo!!
and tonight is Robbie's last night on and then he's off for four. I am so extremely much happier than him because his honey do list is going to kill him. hahaha. But in return, I booked him a massage for Tuesday. That's fair. ;)

A breakfast picnic

Sometimes you just gotta get up and get out in the morning!  We were at the park wayyy too early this morning for a little impromptu breakfast picnic.  Thanks girls for being so smiley all the time!

Smarty

Around our house it's pretty big trouble if you write on your hands.
The only glitch in that, is that Robbie often comes home with writing on his hands, usually a plate when he runs out of or doesn't have any scratch paper.
 The girls get after him!
Soooooo, yesterday while Addison was packing Daddy's lunch, she disappears in to the office and comes back out with paper from the printer and scissors....
So I ask, "What is that for?"
I am sending this to work with Daddy so he won't write on his hands anymore, that is NOT GOOD MANNERS!!!
I had to laugh, so here is Daddy with his papers and he better NOT come home with writing on his hands!  :)))
Good job Addison Ivie!

It has arrived!

Robbie has been a little obsessed with us getting a picnic table.  So after exhaustive research, this one was decided on.  Then after exhaustive convincing, (by him, of me), this one was ordered.  and now it has arrived.  It came yesterday about two hours before Rob had to leave for work and he was a man possessed trying to get this thing together before he had to leave, but sure enough, with zero minutes to spare, it was completed.  and we are thankful.
We ate breakfast and lunch out on the patio today.  Awesome.

Yes, it's huge.  It was available in 6, 7 or 8 foot and we got the 8 foot.  Plenty of room to eat, do projects, etc. We are going to use this thing a ton. Thanks babe.

A much needed visit to Corrie...

This is the Fantastic Corrie who does my hair.  It was the girls' turn this morning and I think they enjoyed it!
Allie got the cutest little bob. I love it.

And Addison just got things straightened up after I hacked at it a little before the cruise. LOL.  it needed some help, but looks good now.

Kidspace Museum ~ Pasadena

Today was a weird day.  Very.
So Robbie had to go to Pasadena today for a civil deposition and wanted us to go with.  So we all jumped in the car and headed down knowing we wanted to spend the day at the KidSpace Museum after what we thought would be a quick debrief with the attorneys.
HA. HA. HA.
After way too long in there, Rob let us know that he was going to be A WHILE.  So we ditched him and went to the Museum.  Now, I am a "do it all Momma" and taking all the girls everywhere by myself is a normal thing, but I must admit, I had pause at the thought of this.  But we drove over to the museum and it was well worth it.  This place was awesome!!! There were climbing stations and jungle themes and a stream and a bike path where the kids got on tricycles and did a course. Amazing.  And when Robbie was done we all headed back over to the museum and the girls showed him all their favorite things.  It was a weird but a fun day.  He expected about an hour or less with the lawyers and was with them for over six hours.  He is EXHAUSTED, but did awesome as always.

This is Macie in one of the climbing towers.

Addison in a different one.

The "web", they said they were spiders.

Us girls.  =)

Eve's favorite place to be.

The water, there was a stream and a pond too.  Next time we'll dress appropriately as the kids are encouraged to get in and wade in the water.  I LOVE this place!

Sweet sisters.

Macie headed UP UP and Away!

and then the park. :)

We stayed until close at the KidSpace Museum but it was so beautiful out we didn't want to leave.  So we stayed and played at this great park which is on the grounds of the Museum.  Very fun.

One happy baby!  She is starting to feel like she can do a lot of the same things the girls can and that makes her a very happy girl.  Fun!

Super Sunday!

We were super early for church today so I had plenty of time to snap some pictures of the girls.

What a glorious day of church it was too!! :)
Evelyn Macie turned 18 months yesterday so she was able to go to nursery with Allie.  She did not hesitate one single second and did AWESOME the whole time!

Allie was the best singer in the whole nursery today and sang two songs all by herself.  "I'm so glad when Daddy comes home" and "twinkle twinkle".  The chorister could NOT believe she knew the whole song of Daddy comes home.  Allie was also recognized today as the best helper/cleaner upper in the whole nursery.  Good job Allie!

And sweet Addison got the quiet cookie in her class today for being quiet, on task and contributing to class.  That cookie was well earned.
Good job Addison!

This is special to me.  This dress was mine when I was a little girl and Allie wore it to church today.  I loved it.  Thanks to my Mom for keeping it in such great condition all these years.

My baby girl is 18 months old. Evelyn Macie is sweet, funny, and such a happy little girl. She is purely a blessing in my life.

Evelyn, you are already a little prankster with your sisters and definitely the boss of them. Addi says your first two words were "no" and "mine"! And she might be right. But now you say "I like that" with your huge toothy grin and it melts my heart. You like books and snacks for sure and you love love your sisters. Allie cried the other day and you hurried to her with your arms open and held her and then rubbed her back. You are the sweetest. And I love you. So so much. I know that you were meant for me and for that I could not be more grateful. You are mine babe.

This could not be more accurate.

Feet don't fail me now.

So when I started running again and training a little for the 1/2 marathon I was running in my Nike Free Cross trainers...

and I love them. But running shoes they are not. My feet were taking a beating. Good for the elliptical, not good for anything else.

So then, I thought, Hey the free cross trainers are great, so I'll get the free runs and they'll be my solution. So I got these....

Got them in the mail, wore them constantly immediately and soon after my right foot was hurting so bad I could hardly walk, then knee pain, then hip pain. wow. no thank you. Not for me.

So then I decided to quit guessing and go to Fleet Feet. So while we were in Stockton, we went. and they recommended these:

Problem NOT solved. So Sadly, the Nike Free Runs have already been returned and the Sauconys are going back on Monday. I am at my wits end on this shoe thing. The one pair that has been working for me and helping to heal my heel pain has been my old school trashed Nike Shox from about 8 years ago. But I know it's not smart to be running ten and twelve miles in beaten down shoes. So here I am again going back online to try and find some shoes that will just make me not hurt. That's all I want! They don't hve to make me magically faster or give me more endurance, they just have to NOT HURT.
We'll see how it goes. There are three pair in my Zappos shopping cart right now. I will get them, run them in to the ground and then send the 2 that don't work the best back. Hopefully one pair WILL work. Who knew I had such picky feet? I have never had problems with my feet before...ever. It just goes to show that when you have a pain and you don't rest and let it heal, it will just expound. I know this, but taking a day off is a ruined day for me. I am antsy and agitated all day long if I don't do SOMETHING. Hopefully these shoes I am ordering will help. Until then I will keep rocking my old school trashed Nike Shox. I literally think I have had them since like 2004. Oldies but goodies for sure.

Flower baskets

We went to Lowe's last weekend and each girl got to choose enough flowers to fill her own little flower bin.  Then they got to come home and plant them themselves, with a little help.  They did great and had fun.
