Coookies

Addison is so funny. She can eat an amazing amount of food in order to qualify for the receipt of a cookie. I made chocolate chip cookies today right before dinner and let them bake while the girls were eating. Addison ate her whole dinner and then sweet talked a cookie out of me. But it was all worth it when she told me the cookies were "amazing". Lol. Amazing? She's TWO! funny person.
And now I am realizing that I can't talk freely in front of Allie anymore. Addison finished dinner first, (Allie eats A LOT of food), so I told Addison that we needed to wait for Allie to finish her dinner and then we would all have cookies together. Well that was ALL Allie needed to hear. She promptly put all her pasta back on her plate and handed the plate to me. Then pointed at the cookies and signed more. I was shocked. Apparently she understood EVERY word! She is such a funny little girl. So I gave Addison her cookie and she promptly started dunking it in her milk, she must be learning from Dad. and I gave Allie her half of cookie which she promptly got ALL over herself. Literally her hair was chocolate and both big toes were covered as well. So once we were done I picked up both girls and packed them up the stairs to the tubby. That was a long haul! lol.
Well the fun didn't stop there. Five minutes in to the tubby Addison is yelling "Allie pooped Allie Pooped" and she jumped out of the tub. Ya, Allie did poop. Gross. What a fun night!

One year old molars

Yep, I have come to the conclusion that these are one year old molars. How did I forget that these would be coming? Seriously. I would forget my head lately...

4 Months along

Agh Teeth!!!

Last night I was putting sweet Allie down and I look down and she is eating her blanket. Like biting it in her teeth and then pulling it away and there are threads in her mouth! well, fuzz at least. Anyway, after switching blankets and it continuing, I decided to investigate. Flipped the light on, laid her down and stuck my finger in there. Nope, no teeth where I had expected teeth, then back up in her mouth there are little sharp spots. teeth?? uh, ya, and they are totally in! How did I miss these? We brush incessantly and thanks to Tovah and her wonderful supply of the cutest toothbrushes I have EVER seen, the girls love it. I am going to ask her to come over and tell me which ones they actually are, but regardless, they are adorable. Sweet baby girl wasn't even fussy over it! Amazing.

Thank you.

I am thankful tonight. More than usual maybe and I should feel this way more often.

I am good at making sure the girls know how hard Robbie works for us. When Addison doesn't understand why Daddy is sleeping during the day instead of playing with her, I explain to her that while we were all sleeping snug in our beds, Daddy was working out in the cold ALLLLL night LONNNNG while we got to sleep. She has no idea what Daddy does yet, but she understands "Hard Boy Work" which is a phrase I use often. lol. She probably thinks he mows lawns or picks up the dog poopy like here at home. I don't know. But regardless, she knows he works hard and does it all night while we sleep. That's important.
I am thankful for the job he does. In all honesty, I probably know about 10% of what he REALLY does every night. I love hearing every story and I get a recap every single morning when he gets home and I like that. But lets be honest, he is at a fatal and I will get the 5% I can handle of what he is dealing with right now. But I appreciate that too.
I also appreciate that three days in a row he did all the dishes, unloaded the dishwasher, everything because I was so tired. I appreciate that for my birthday he understands that I want 10 things from Target that he has no use for instead of the Ipad he wants to get me. I also appreciate he then picks the perfect ten things and uses tissue paper in the wrapping process. That's impressive. No my husband isn't perfect. Case in point- He has never experienced any part of me in labor except the exciting part at the end. I labor by myself all night while he sleeps soundly and then I wake him up only in time to go to the hospital. In fact when I told him at 9pm that I was in labor with Allie, he was in bed, pillow over his head and snoring before I could get my face washed and teeth brushed. lol. I woke him up at about 7the next morning to take me to the hospital.
Anyway, my point girls is this - you will meet boys, and then you will meet young men, and then you will meet men. and then you will start dating. You will be about 22 at this point. and when you date men, I want you to think - will he do for me and my family what my Dad did for my Mom and ours? Will he make me better? Will I be proud to say I chose him?
Okay that's it. Yes I am worried about you dating and yes I know you are two and one year old. I worried about you dating before you were born. Trust me. You'll worry about your kids too.

Daddy says...

The other night Rob came in after putting Addison down with a HUGE smile on his face. I laughed and said "what?". He just laid down and said, "that child will get whatever she wants for the rest of her life". uhhhh. While the sentiment is sweet, the sincerity with which he said it terrifies me a little.
I would be less worried if this obsession were one sided. Addison and now Allie both kind of turn in to little beasts when Daddy is home. Its shocking sometimes the transformations that take place.
Rob always chooses graves, and that means he leaves at 5:30pm which is fine, on those nights I do bedtime by myself which isn't a big deal. In fact, it is seemingly easier and LESS time consuming than on the nights he is home!!!
Perfect example is Allie this past week. I have her going to bed every night BEFORE eight pm and getting up every morning between 830 and 930am. Clockwork.
Well, Robbie put her down two nights in a row last week. The first night she got up once during the night and the second night was an absolute nightmare, the worst sleeping of her life! RIDICULOUS! He said coincidence, until last night when sure enough he went back to work, I put her down at 745pm and had to wake her up at 915 this morning. Ya, some coincidence!!!! She just wants to get up and play with Daddy!
And Addison is worse. He comes in with some outlandish stories about checking the clock and going peeps and getting a drink and tucking in 400 babies and blah blah blah a hundred other things that simply do not happen when he is not home. I just laugh at him. I figure she's so good for me, at long as that continues, he can figure out the rest of it! lol.
The problem is that he is a total pushover for these girls. TOTAL. and I have seen it more in the last two weeks than EVER before. He is in love with them and they know it! SCARY! I can laugh only because I totally saw it coming and wouldn't have it any other way. He is the perfect Daddy for little girls!

Love its

I love it when Addison says "Meeeember" and gives me a wink when she is trying to get me to "remember" something that may or may not have ever happenned.
I love putting Allie down for nap because once we are done reading a book she just snuggles in and goes to sleep and then flops back and puts her arms over her head. I love to rock her and just stare at her. I can't believe my baby is 14 months old.
I love it that Addison can remember stuff now. This week she has told me that Amber saved her in the pool and that Grandma Lady dumped her out of the swing here at our house. lol. Her stories are often tinged with some imagination, but regardless, they are fun.
I love smokey cheese. what?! I do.
I also love meat and am now craving a pork chop.
I love it when Robbie is off and I get that extra little while to just lay and hear them downstairs having fun with breakfast.
I love it that my kids eat so well. so far.
I love it that Allie sleeps in.
I love it when the girls play chase. Addison just pokes along while Allie hurries with all her might laughing all the way!
I LOVE the loft.
I love a hundred million other things but it's tubby time, so that's it for now. =)

Poppy fields

Today we went up to the Poppy Reserve which is in West Lancaster. It is a national park and has the largest display of wild poppies in California. It also has over seven miles of walking trails and an interpretive center. Very fun.
Ofcourse the weather wasn't ideal, (we actually got rained on), but we all still had fun.

Seven teeth

Tooth number seven poked its way through yesterday after a long hiatus from teething. I don't enjoy teething, but feeding her is so much easier the more teeth she has, so it's worth it!

George Monkey

So Addison is very in to Curious George these days but apparently does recognize the fact that he is really just a naughty little monkey.
And this monkey has born the brunt of this knowledge....

This monkey is no longer allowed to sleep in her room and the other day she scooped the monkey up, turned him around, soundly swatted his bottom, scolded him and then marched him straight to the naughty bench. I was appalled. and laughing hysterically. For a little girl who has had maybe two spanks in her life, she sure knew the drill! lol
Now this sock monkey is "naughty" too, guilt by association I think.

Mish mash

This is Allie on blue blowpop. Given to her by AnnaMarie. Who also gave her her first cookie. She LOVES AnnaMarie. lol

Allie got very adept at getting those eggs open and getting those m&m's. mmmm

Sisterly looooove. LOL. I love Allie's sweatsuit. Sooo cute. and ofcourse Addi's hat. She wore it that whole day because she didn't want the rain to "tickle" her hair. she cracks me up.

A first for Allie Mads

Allie just went down for nap without a bottle. Yes it's true. First time ever. The only bottles she gets are before bed and before nap. Today....no nap bottle.
I am kinda over it and in reality I think she kind of is too. She's such a good eater.
I always think of Allie as so small, but in reality this is about the time Addison weaned off the bottle. I remember we lived in this house and I was REALLY pregnant, so Addi must have been about 15 months or so. And Allie just turned 14 months the other day. I think Allie seems so small to me cuz she is SO bald. LOL.
But she does totally try to talk. She said Di-Pa this morning and went and got one to give to her Daddy for a change. lol and she said Apple to Tovah the other day and has been trying to say banana forever. Love it.

Teacher and Student

Oh, she is learning so quickly.....

Update to Terrible Twos

Okay, so the biggest problem was that Addison was just WAY too rough with Allie. Like if I didn't have to seperate them every two minutes it would pretty much change my life. Our home would be a quieter, more peaceful place. So, I told Addison two days ago that we have a new rule and that is to be sweet to Allie, and soft with Allie. and now when I see it coming, I simply ask her what our rule is. Trust me, she knows it. and it has made a difference.
Oh and Kai-Lan is GONE. Thank heavens. I haven't heard "I am SO mad" in over two days. Hallelujah!
Oh and Addison washed dishes for me the other day, what a helper.

Easter Egg Hunt!

Today was our first Easter Egg Hunt of the season and it was a good warm up for what I have planned. Addison had fun with lots of her church friends and even Allie's friend Layla was there. They both had lots of fun making a great craft and hunting eggs, and the weather was beautiful!

All dressed and ready to head to the Elder's.

Allie and her friend Layla.

If you're happy and you know it!

At Amber's we taught Addison if you're happy and you know it, and she was happy! ....love the girls clapping at the end. Funny.

The Terrible Two's have arrived.

Oh yes they have, in the following ways:
1- she has absolute selective hearing and minds like a stick
2- she pushed a stool over to the counter to swipe m and m's and then when busted told Tovah she was just getting a Banana. and then proceeded to eat the entire banana to further attempt to trick us.
3- A phrase I hear at least once a day is "I am SO mad". but I blame this on "Ni Hao, Kai Lan", which I originally thought was a great show for her to watch. It was a good alternative to Dora. Then Rintoo started modeling all sorts of horrible bratty behaviors so that Kai Lan can set him straight. That is totally lost on Addison, all she sees is Rintoo the tiger stomping around being nasty and so the emulation has begun.
4- Allie is her personal tackle partner. Not always being nasty, just physical. AT least half the time they both start out laughing, but then it goes horribly wrong as Addison just does NOT STOP.

In her defense, she also has amazing moments of sweetness. She goes to bed easily every night. It's never a struggle. She gets up every morning and whispers until I hear her and then says proudly- "I did not wake up Allie!". Which I appreciate. She thrives on helping me. She will often run and get wipes or whatever else I need.

So here is my plan to combat this terrible stage--- I am in the process of making and laminating stars I can stick to the wall when she does something good and take down when not. I am also making a task chart that we can put stickers on when she completes age appropriate tasks. We'll see how it goes. Mostly, honestly, I think she's a little bored. She's too smart to not be challenged constantly and that's on me. Now I just gotta figure it out.

The Blond Avenger and her sidekick Bouncy babe

She came up with the costume herself...I think the pictures say it all.
