Back to the beach!

We had another beach trip. =) This time we went to Long Beach and the weather was more beautiful than ever. We went over to pick up our friend Shannon (who is down from Oregon and staying a week) from his sister Shealynn's house. (She goes to Chapman). Anyway, while we were over there we all went to the beach. Addison was her usual happy self, but REALLY wanted her toes in the water! I don't know if it was because it was pretty hot and the water felt good or what, but if you stood up straight she would wiggle and try to get away, but put her toes in the water and she was kicking her feet and happy. It was super cute.
Oh my gosh, as I write this, I can hear dogs barking like crazy around here! Which is very rare, but that is my pet peeve. My other pet peeve is when Rob goes out the front door and we hear our one ghetto neighbor say "is that the one that is the PO-leese?" Yes it is and if you mess with us, he will taze you. lol bad.

Bath Time

Addison loves her bath time and I was able to snap some photos of her in the tub tonight. This is the first time I have allowed her to be on her tummy in the tub. She of course is fearless and has been trying to roll over for weeks, thanks to baby swimming class I am sure. But I allowed her to do it tonight and she had MORE fun than ever in the tub. She is getting to be such a big girl! Oh and she is starting to try to pull herself up on things too. She wants to swim AND run! =) agh!

A Night of Firsts...

I have the best husband EVER!....who is also the best DADDY ever!

Tonight I was invited out with the girls for a birthday party for me and another friend who shares my birthday, but Addison had baby swimming, so I was reluctant. Then my reluctance turned in to a decision to skip it with the girls and of course go to baby swimming with Addi and Robbie. Then Rob swoops in and says that I have no choice and I HAVE to go out and that HE is taking Addison to swimming by himself and that I am NOT invited.

To most people, this is not a big deal. To me, this is the first time I have agreed to Rob taking Addison anywhere without me and the first time I have seen friends by myself in the last seven months.

Although there was beauty in going out and just being a girl, the real beauty was in coming home and having the reaffirmation that there is NO other place I would rather be. I am one very lucky girl.

More Birthday!

So after Robin got up today, we had my birthday! =) I did not open one gift OR card early this year. Wait, that's not true, I did open the card from The Tarter's, but that wasn't really fair since it came like a week before my birthday and I totally didn't think of it being a b-day card. So anyway, Robbie got up around 3 and I got to open my presents (thanks to everyone, SO much!) and then he surprised me with a verrrry nice dinner at Vincent Hill Station which is an elegant railway themed restaurant outside Palmdale. I was a little nervous about taking Addison to such a nice restaurant...Chipotle is our usual regular, but she did AWESOME. Three different tables of stuffy old rich people complimented her on how quiet and sweet she was. We were very impressed for sure! Such a sweet girl, I should never have doubted.
It was a GREAT birthday.
Oh and I got my hair cut yesterday too, and for once I really like it. =)

Happy Birthday to us!

Today I turn 29. Yes I am saying out loud! 29!! I am sure this is the first of many times I will turn 29. Addison also turns 7 months today. So while Dad was sleeping, us girls got into some trouble. We had grilled cheese sandwiches! For those of you who know me well, i know! Grilled cheese! But it actually tasted pretty good to the both of us! This was Addison's first time with cheese or sandwiches and she LOVED them both.

I am getting much more adventurous with her food lately. She has my mom to thank. I told my mom one day last week about Addison's basic diet and asked her what else I could feed her. After being called "ridiculous" at least four times, I was told in no uncertain terms that I can now feed her pretty much anything. I think she ended the convo with "FEED THAT GIRL!" Yikes okay crazy lady! =) So Addison is one happy camper this week having discovered Cheerios, toast, cheese and grilled cheese sandwiches. Quite a departure from her organic baby food!

sad day...

Okay guys, sorry to say it, but we are going private on the blog. I hate to do it, but it's time. Too many shady peeps out there... and with Rob being a cop and all....it's just time. So email me so I can be sure to add your email address to the "approved" list so you can still log in to read the blog. Nothing will change except that you will have to log in each time to read the blog. But I hope it's worth the extra step! We love sharing Addison with you via the web and don't want to stop! Thanks.

Spare no expense!

I LOVE her smiles in these two. She is SO cute! (I am not at all biased!) Click on them and you can check out her two little teeth.

Okay, so we totally admit that Addison has quite a few toys. We are NOT out of control, she just has "plenty" let's say. But in all honestly, I have to admit, her two favorite things are:

1. The little poof balls on my slippers. (Which I do not let her play with)

2. The bugger sucker from the hospital. (Which I do let her play with, but only after santizing it).
I guess it just proves that babies will like what they like, no matter what you buy for them!

Crazy Kicker!

Posted by Picasa
Addison loves our vertical blinds. No matter where you put her in the house, she will inevitably end up in front of the glass sliding door. She has discovered that the dogs hang out there too, and she likes watching them through the glass. That's the good part of this...there is a downside. She is a "kicker". Rob nicknamed her "The Crazy Kicker" months ago and this video shows why, perfectly.... (Make sure your volume is up).

Crawling

Addison is amazing. Tonight Grandma Smythe and I were sitting on the floor with her right before bedtime watching "Idol gives back" (love David Archuleta by the way), and Addison is playing on the floor, rolling around being her usual "constant motion" self. When all of the sudden, she just goes in to push up position and then hands and knees and then shuffles forward! I screamed and almost scared her to death but I could not believe it!! She did it a couple more times and I am still in shock. She had done the push up thing before, but this is the first time she actually went in to crawling position and pushed forward. I can't wait for tomorrow to see what she does!

Tar feet, ewwwwwwwwwww

So we got back from the beach with Heather and Beau and we walked up all the steps back up to the Crystal Cove parking lot. We get to where we wash our feet off and Robbie is over there with a little stick trying to sneakily scrape what looks like TAR off his foot! sick! So as we are totally making fun of him, Heather looks down and she has it too! ewwww, only Beau and I and of course Addison escaped the sicko tar feet. Thank heavens! I seriously don't know what that was, but it was on the floor of our shower along with a scrub brush when we got home and that's just sick. Thank heavens for soft scrub with bleach. Gross! Beware the beach tar monster!

First time at the beach

We went to Laguna Beach last weekend and had a great time! It was Addison's first time with her toes in the sand and surf and she loved it! We also got to see my bff Heather and her boyfriend Beau who live in Laguna Niguel. We had SUCH a great time seeing them. I am sad we didn't get a single pic with Beau, but thankfully we got tons with Heather, we love her. I hope to take many more trips to their beach. Thanks guys for such a great time!

Is it November?? lol

Goodbye to an old friend....

Well, the CRV's time is up. I have to admit, this makes me sad. This last weekend on the way to Laguna Beach, we decided to stop and look at a car we had seen on Craig's list. So we stopped off at Richardson's Honda, the super great price was for real, the car checked out, so we did it! and let me tell you...carrying on a conversation and actually being able to hear each other talk while driving is amazing! and not having a stick is nice too. I do miss the crv, but the denali package is a beautiful thing, and thank heavens for Navigation. I won't be calling Robbie every ten minutes for directions! And I love feeling so much safer with Addison in the car now and this one has room for many more tiny angels! Rob told me today he can get four car seats in the Envoy....uhhhhh yikes.

So so much going on...

Okay, I recently found out about a program that will turn a blog into a bound book to keep forever. This is good news and bad news. The good news is that it is what I have been wishing for, but the bad news is that I will now be posting WAY more in an effort to have everything in this wonderful book I will be putting together for Addison to have. =) So for better or for worse, here we go...

Baby Swimming Class

Addison is a mer-baby!
I signed us up for Baby Swim Class here in Lancaster. It is every Tuesday and Thursday for the month of April, so tonight was our second class. Addison is by far the youngest kid there, our age group is 6 months to three years and most of the kids are atleast two. But she does awesome! We motor around on her tummy, her back, side, she doesn't care, she just loves it. She gets excited and kicks her legs when she sees the pool. We are lucky the area offers this and we will probably do it all summer long. Yay for swimming!
