Dr. Krieger

I just realized i never posted about Allie's MRI.  What can i say??  It could not have gone better.  We went to LA on Sunday and stayed at the Marriott Renissance at Hollywood and Highland, which by the way is a fabulous location, as the hotel is connected to a great outdoor mall.  We shopped and walked and had a great dinner there and it was so nice not to have to drive.  Then we got up suuuper early monday to have allie at CHLA for her 6:30am check-in.  By about 10:30am we were done at the hospital, had met with Dr. Krieger at his office, and were headed home with light and happy hearts.  All news was good.  You can watch Allie for 5 minutes and see that she is a healthy girl, but it was nice to hear it from Dr. Krieger. Yes!

Black Friday!

Ok prior to today i have NEVER participated in black friday.  The whole people pushing/running/being insane at the mall is NOT my style...however, we decided to brave it and left for Arden Fair this morning at 12:45am.  The biggest lure?  Gap 50% off.  Banana Republic 40% off...plus just getting to go shop with my sister, just us?  Irresistible.  So off we went...and didnt get home until after 6am!  Then slept and were back at the mall with Rob and the girls for a good 4 more hours!  Lol.  I can honestly say I have never shopped so much, spent so much and saved so much on what I bought in one day!  Lol.  Super fun.  We started to fade around four a.m. but after a pretzel and a lemonade we were good to go again!   I love everything i bought and found Rob a ton of stuff too.  Amber and I have decided this is our new tradition.  The Gap, Banana, and The Limited should send us thank you cards this year!  Lol.  Super fun!

A Savage Thanksgiving

We again are at Amber and Spencer's for Thanksgiving and let me just say this is a well oiled machine.  These two cooked the biggest most delicious Thanksgiving dinner...absolutely perfect.  Spencer put the turkey in the smoker before 7am and that started a crazy day of cooking everything i love and amber even made me apple dumplings which i only get once a year. Here.  They are amazing.  I did offer to help 3 different times but for some reasn amber declined my offers.  Weird. :-)

Oh wait. She declined until it was time to peel pomegranates... strange how that has become "my job" no matter where I am!!  But I was happy to do something to help and we discovered that the girls, especially alliebaba loooove poms.  Yay for our perfect dinner, oh and it was wonderful to share it with Am's friend TJ too. :-)  happy turkey day!!  We have so much to be thankful for.

Rainbow

Sweet Addi is sick, so she pulled her chair over in front of the glass slider, I covered her with a blanket and she's been laying there looking at our rainbows all morning. Poor sweety.

Addison the photographer

Addison took this picture. Her first try ever. Good job babe!

tazer

So Robbie is home in uniform and Addison was sitting on his lap with Evelyn, well she spied the tazer....

"Daddy what's that?"
It's called a tazer
"What's that for"?
Welllll, it's to make people do what you want.
and with no hesitation whatsoever she says...
"I need one of those".

2 month check-up

I usually DO NOT take pictures of her with her binky, because I seriously only see the binky and that's so annoying. But I had to take one just so she can see that yes, she was a binky baby! lol.
She had her 2 month old well-baby check up today and here are her stats:
Height: 95th percentile
Weight: 60th percentile
Head circumference: 85th percentile
Almost exactly what she was at her 2 week check up so yay! She is consistent.
And what did Dr. Edralin say again??? "Long and lean, just like we like 'em". lol. If I had a dollar for every time he has said that, I would have like twenty bucks. lol.

I wish I would have waited one second longer to snap the pic, cuz she broke in to a HUGE smile!
So cute.

Sometimes I think it does your soul good to just stop and count your blessings.

I am thankful that we have Allie's MRI next Monday, and then we can be done with it.
I am thankful we have the money to pay our exorbitant medical bills and that every time I write a check I feel peace that everything was okay with that particular situation. Between Addi's allergic reaction to walnuts, Evelyn spitting up blood when she was 4 days old and Allie's procedure earlier this year, I am truly thankful to be able to look back and say "yes, it's all good".
I am thankful my kids are healthy and strong. Crazy and beautiful.
I am thankful we have Amber and Spencer and that we so look forward to spending time with them. Sometimes talking to her is like a hug that i need.
I am thankful for all that we have and for all that we are. I am a blessed.

Bangs!

Yay! Corrie just cut my hair and gave me some dark. I love it.
Thanks Corrie!! Allie keeps sitting on my lap touching the dark and saying it's "scaring" her while making a terrified face.
lol.

Child Labor

We like to call it "being a helper" lol
She is such a big helper to me running and getting whatever Ev needs that today I made a bottle specifically so she could feed the baby. So sweet.
Evie is totally looking at the camera in this one. Love it!
She has been on me to let her vacuum for over a week now, so finally I gave her a chance and she thought it was super fun. This may become a regular thing! just kidding!

Thank you Governor Terminator.

Okay, so kindergarten here makes me crazy. A while ago I found out they don't do morning/afternoon, the poor little babies go all day. It's not kindergarten, it's college prep!

That was devastating enough, but today I found out that thanks to Governor Schwarzenegger and the bill he signed, kids cannot start kindergarten unless they are already five. So because Addison doesn't turn 5 until the end of September instead of the beginning, she will have to wait until she's almost 6 years old to start! And to make matters worse, it'll be law so there is no option to "test" and get her in. She won't be able to start until 2013.
She is going to be SO dang bored. Poor Addison.

Sleeping Bags!!!

So for one week during Rob's vacation this year, we are renting a motorhome! I cannot wait. We have no specific destination (probably Tahoe), we just want to road trip it. So in honor of this adventure, we needed sleeping bags. Great Grandma thought the girls should have them anyway, so early Merry Christmas to them from her. Here are the ones we chose. =) and of course Daddy decided he needed one too. =) They all love their sleeping bags and are having nap in them now.

Moooooooonsters....

Allie is a kook.
She now has decided she wants to sleep UNDER her bed. Yep, we have gotten her up from under there a couple times now, but last night was classic. I saw her under her bed, so I went in and asked her why, she whispered with a very serious face... "MONSTERS". lol
I put her back in her bed but then when i checked everyone before I went to sleep she was asleep under her bed again. funny baby.
The last couple days she has also been on top of us for FOOD. You would think we are starving her! She'll just walk up to one of us and say "Pizza" or "Taco". lol. This started for today right after breakfast about 9am. Seriously, pizza at 9am? I think not my dear.
Allie, you are definitely having a growth spurt!

Like a Puppy

Okay, we have been home for about three minutes.

Just now we were outside doing "exercise class" (Allie, Addi and I) and all of the sudden Addison says, "why are my pants wet?" so I said "I don't know, did you wet your panties???" to which she replies, "noooo, I went in the grass like a puppy".
uhhhhhhh. what?
"Well there was no paper in the potty so I went in the grass like a puppy".
Seriously we have been home less than five minutes. seriously.

Sweet baby

My Heavenly Father knows my needs.
Evelyn is the easiest baby on the face of the earth right now.
She sleeps, she takes a binky, she takes a bottle when i want to give her one. She likes the sling, she likes the front pack, she likes her car seat and the car.
I AM SO SPOILED by this baby.
It can only be divine.
Evelyn you are so so very sweet.
(Please continue to be sweet, especially through your teen years).

Big Girl Allie!!

Halloween night Allie got transitioned to her big girl bed, that and potty training she was WAY over due for, we just haven't had days in a row where it was going to work to do it. However, last night I moved the twin bed that has always been in her room to where her crib was and the crib to the twin beds spot. Then put a pillow under the sheet, (I hate bedrails, they are so ugly) to keep her from falling out. Wellllll, after going down with no complaints and no getting up, she fell out of bed at 3am. Oops. so rob took the crib mattress out of her crib and put it beside her bed in case she fell out again and then put another pillow beside her (under the fitted sheet) to hopefully keep her in.....she is napping in there now and loved going down just like normal. Yay! Hopefully this will last!

Potty training is up next!

Their "Amber" necklaces...

So while we were at Amber's last time Addison ended up with this green beaded necklace. I am not sure if she confiscated it or if it was given freely, but regardless, she LOVES it. She calls it her "Amber necklace" and wears it every single day of her life. To school, to the store, everywhere.
Well, Allie caught on rather quickly that she didn't have an "Amber" necklace. I was saying - "ooh wear your pretty bracelet"...well that was working, but once Auntie Amber heard that Allie was having feelings about this, we received, via fedex overnight, this red "Amber necklace" for Miss Allie-baba. tooo cute.

Fire Station

A couple weeks ago, Addison's preschool had another field trip. This time they visited the Palmdale fire station. It was okay, but she is definitely an officer's daughter and was not that impressed with all the fire stations "toys". Including the silly plastic hat they wanted her to wear. No thanks she said. lol

Me and Adds watching the ladder go up on the truck.
Addison in her sunglasses abstaining from wearing the ridiculous fire hat.
She wore the hat, but only because firefighter Venti liked her boots and sunglasses.

Happy Halloween!

Halloween this year was a lot of fun and it was the first year we have spent the holiday in Lancaster. Our neighborhood was impressive for trick or treating, people really went all out decorating which made it really fun for the girls. (and Rob). lol. Allie wasn't sure about the whole thing even though we had "practiced" at home. The first few houses she stood back a little, but before long she was right up there with Addi. Soo cute.

Here is a pic of the girls with their "loot".
Everyone very excited to get headed out to trick or treat.
The little ballerinas were ready to go!
Here is a decent shot of the house. What you can't see is that the spider moves, there was a strobe light and two black lights and a tv under the patio with a spooky ghost face on it that yelled at people as they came to the door. We had many children running away from our house. lol.
