A difference of opinion...

Just a couple quick pics I snapped before church today....

Evelyn AND ALLIE! and their shoulder shrugs.  Priceless.

Okay, the difference of opinion occured when Addison realized that, unlike Allie and Evelyn, she had to wear her little jean jacket instead of a white sweater. Oh the travesty.  A further difference occured when she looked at their style of dresses, (bright, springy, big skirts, etc) and realized not only was hers different but it was oatmeal.  She actually asked me, "What is this color?"
WOW.
Addison, thank you for humoring Mommy today and wearing, with a smile, your outfit that yes, was a little different.  But Babe, trust me, sometimes different can be better.  After all, you don't want to grow up and wear Justin Beiber clothes, even if all of your friends are.

Love

Her. So.  Much.

Big Lady

Macie is ready to GO~!
She went and got her shoes and her baby in the stroller and her purse, then put her cup in her purse and waved bye-bye to us.  Off she went to the other room, she was OUT.  LOL.
This kid is hilarious.

Ruuuuun

Okay, just kidding, Today was my fastest 6 miles. I did another just cooling down, but I can now say, I am as ready as I will ever be...for this first half marathon. I am sure I will learn things by doing it that will benefit me for next time, but for now... this is as good as it gets! LOL

I love the taper! Today was my fastest 6.25 miles yet.

Preparations.

Okay, for real marathoners there are countless preparations to be accomplished. I am not a real marathoner so, foolishly, I believed I could just go about my normal ways and just throw in a long run here and there and face no consequences. Wrong. About 2 weeks ago, I did the 13.1 miles, felt pretty good. Well, I finished late and had to hurry off the treadmill to make Robbie something to eat and pack his lunch for work...so my recovery drink did not happen. Fast forward about 6 hours, I was so sick to my stomach I could do nothing and then the throwing up started. Words like dehydration and glycogen depletion entered my life, and I realized that this "running for hours" business is quite unlike anything I have ever done, and requires some added attention. Yes I realize my ignorance on this. Soooo, given that the OC Marathon is in ten days, my habits have now changed. Trying to minimize my caloric intake is a thing of the past. I eat. In fact, I eat things I haven't eaten in ages. Bagels, rice, I bought a five pound bag of russets and intend to eat them all. It is a definite change and I look forward to going back to normal, but I understand the change is necessary and am doing my best. Rob also bought me a sampler box of Shotbloks, Gu, Chomps and other such supplements which I am obsessed with and will take some with me during the run. Overall, I think I am closer to being ready. I am enjoying the process and think I will do this again. Actually, I think I better wait to answer that until AFTER May 6th. :)

I want to do this agaaaaain.

I fear that no other 5K will ever live up to you my dear Color Run.

10 days until the OC Half.  AGHGHGHGHGHGHH!!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I was lucky enough to spend my birthday today at the SoCal Color Run in Irvine.
It was exactly what I had wanted to do, with My BFF Heather, and it turned out even better than I thought it could!

This is Addison and I right after I finished.....She was just as colorful and we were!

Allie was dancing up a storm to the awesome music they played.

This is me coming in to the finish where they were waiting....Addison sped out to meet me!  Next year, we do this together!

Seriously what are the odds that we were all in the air together and that Robbie got a picture of it?!  Love it!  Happy Birthday to ME!!!!

The color haze, so fun!

Rob somehow stayed nearly spotless, but the girls and I and Heather were a different story!

Yay!  My BFF Heather.  So amazing to do this with you!

Love her.

Even little Evelyn Macie LOVED the color! LOL, I could not stop laughing!

Dancing to the tunes, getting ready for another color.

Addison catching some AIR!

This birthday will definitely go down in history as one of the very best.  I am thankful I was able to do this today.  It was a GREAT memory-maker!

Monkey Business

I don't know what inspired her, but Allie was on a mad hunt looking for both of her monkey slippers this morning. She found one in the shoe closet and one in the loft and was so proud of herself for finding them.  She hasn't taken them off since.  She also rounded up Addison's and Evelyn's as well!  Thank you Jeff and Nichole! They are so cute and fit them perfectly.

Amazing!

Robbie is amazing.  He built this gate with nothing but a sketch i gave him outlining what I wanted.

This is exactly the outcome I was looking for.  Exactly.  It's beautiful.

It is perfect!  I went and picked the stain yesterday at Lowe's, he came home, sprayed the boards, started installing and voila!  Amazing.

I was merely the yard-mower, waitress, and cheerleader today.  :)  I can handle that!
Thanks babe!

Evie's bed and bedding

I have found the perfect bedding. Perfect.
It is amazing for her room, the colors and damask could not be better.

More exciting though is the fact that, on a whim, we put her in a "big girl bed" three days ago for all sleeping, night and one nap per day and she has not gotten up once. I can't believe it will be this easy, but so far so good.

We decided to get Addison a new mattress and box springs so we went to our "go to" furniture place, (they have literally provided nearly every bed in this house) and picked it up. So we needed a place to put Addison's, so we put them in on the floor of Eve's room. Well for nap that day, I thought, "why not just try it?". So I laid her down, gave her her pillow pet and her cup, covered her up and said nigh night. She didn't make a peep, slept three hours, end of story. AWESOME. So we kept it up and results have been the same. EASIEST. CHILD. EVER.

Well because this all happened very spur of the moment, unplanned, I not only am lacking a frame, but bedding as well. I literally have nothing. Huge me fail. So Robbie took apart a king frame and welded it to fit her full size mattress, we were always planning to take apart the crib and use it for the headboard and foot as intended. But we have done nothing. Maybe after Robbie builds the gate today, we will have time. LOL. Poor guys list just never ends. :)

I LOVE THIS WEATHER!

Allie and her sweet passenger cruising in the barbie bug.  Evelyn loved being along for the ride.

Thank you to Aunt Nichole for the Barbie bug she got for Addison years ago and the pillow pets she got the girls.  Evelyn is obsessed with them!

Addison was showing us how fast she could go.  But her lack of helmet kinda scared me.

Allie! Big Girl!!!

I am in here cleaning up lunch and Addison comes running in SO very excited, for me to come see!  So we go running back out and there is Allie on the far end of the patio on Addison's bike!  And she just starting coming at us, weaving through the lawn chairs!  Wow Allie! Good job!!!!

The congratulatory hug might be the best part.  Addison is so excited for her and told her, "Allie I am so proud of you".   Lovey.
