More Firsts

Allie is getting to be a big girl. and her sweet personality is coming out more and more. I love it!
Today was exciting for a couple reasons.
She has her first tooth!
Robbie has been watching it's progress for the last little while, but while she was in the tub this morning, there it was, all little and cute and white. Yay!
Another exciting/sad first is that Allie is now getting formula at night. I know. It's time. But it still makes me sad. She is almost 8 months now and eats everything, so formula is no big deal. And it was kinda nice last night when she yelled. I kicked Rob and he got up with her for the very first time EVER. He heated a bottle (hallelujah formula!) and fed it to her and then put her back down. kinda nice I must admit!
Thanks babe. You are such a sweet Daddy.

Fall has arrived!

Fall has arrived!
I have been craving having to wear a jacket for weeks now and last night as we walked the missionaries out...sure enough, there was a definite chill in the air!
We immediately grabbed jackets and the girl's new strawberry shortcake blankets and away we went. Allie wanted snuggle time with her Daddy and before we could get home, Allie was fast asleep and Addi was quickly headed that way. Sweet girls. It felt so good to have a chill.
Fall this year is making me a little sad for some reason. It marks the end of another year I guess. Once fall hits, its Halloween, vacation, Thanksgiving, Christmas and then we start again. I wish time went at half speed. If I had a super power, that's what I would wish for. Oh and to be anywhere at anytime in an instant.

Yes, they are wearing shorts, this is Southern California after all...

Oh! and I almost forgot the best part! As we were walking around the neighborhood, we hear from afar, Christmas Music! At first I think someone is REALLY in the spirit! Then around the corner comes the ice cream truck. I just stood there and laughed...only in SoCal! Love it!

Birthday Eve

I am way emotional. There. It's out there. I am emotional. You know this. I know this. Why do I put this on the table so candidly? Because tomorrow, actually in 17 minutes, it's Addison's birthday. She is turning two and I am distraught.
I know it's silly.
I know this.
But tears are still streaming down my face. How did my tiny sweet baby, my first baby, get to be two so quickly? I never dreamed it would be this hard to let her grow up. I thought it would be fun and although it is, it is often just heartbreaking.
I remember standing outside on the back patio the morning she was born before we went to the hospital. I was so filled with anxious joy. It was finally going to happen, I was going to meet my child. I am thankful that I can remember that feeling. I hope I always can.
I remember each step so clearly and it's strange to me now that I never felt scared. Bearing a child is painful and sometimes chaotic and I should have been atleast a little bit scared, but I never ever was. I'll chalk it up to adrenaline and the purest desire of my heart to meet her and be with her. I have never been so focused.

Addison is everybody's sweetheart. To know her is to love her and be charmed by her. She is the kid in the chapel that cheers for the ward when the hymn is over. She is the girl that welcomes each child smaller than her to nursery with a sweet and loving "Baaaaby" as she walks them to the rocking horse and then demands that they ride it. She jumps higher and runs faster than any 2 year old I have ever seen and yes she is also the kid that ONE TIME stole a toy in nursery and then kicked the kid in the head. (We are calling that an accident...the kicking part).
Addison, you love so fully, you are exuberant about EVERYTHING. You are sweet and energetic and busy and beautiful and I love you. and as I tell you every night, I love you so so so.
Happy Birthday my darling girl.

Thanks Grandma Lady

For each Grandchild my mom has she gets these great PBKids chairs. Addison absolutely LOVES hers and sits in it every single day, it's the only place she sits.
Well my sweet Addi, you are a good share-er with your sister, but you have not been willing to share your chair. Hence, Allie's chair arrived the day we got back....not a moment too soon. =) Thanks Grandma Lady!

Another Las Vegas Trip!

We went back to LV on the 8th and stayed at a timeshare called Tahiti Village. It was PERFECT for the girls with a beach entry pool and tanning shelves that were perfect depth for Allie to sit and play in the water, it could not have been better. And the Lazy River was the way to go, both girls loved it. "Pool" was Addison's first word every morning when she woke up. Rob's parents were there for a conference so we were able to see them every day and that was a lot of fun.
The on Friday we went back out to spend a day with Great Grandma at her place and of course Addison loved that and magically morphed back in to her bossy self. good times. (sarcasm)
Then it was back in to Vegas eaarrrly Saturday morning for the start of Rob's CAHP softball tournament. He played awesome as always, both offensively and defensively and had a great time. Grandma came in to town and stayed with us in our hotel which was super helpful. We were able to go out to dinner with the team and that was a lot of fun. I finally found someone who enjoys a great rare prime rib as much as I do. Yay Matt!
After two days of softball in the sun we were ready to get back to our life of leisure in the pools. and finally we went home on Monday afternoon. It was a great week of fun, family and friends. and best of all, we got Robbie for ten straight days! Thanks CHP! =))

Back to Vegas

Robbie just asked Addison if she wanted to go back to Vegas and she raised her arms and screamed "YAAAAAAAA!". Lol.
We are excited. Robbie's schedule worked out so that we can go for nine days starting tomorrow. We'll stay the first three at Tahiti Village, which we are excited for because it's a timeshare condo and having the extra room will be really nice. Then we get to go out to Great Grandma's for a night and then back in to Vegas and we stay at the Southpoint for the softball tournament. YAy! Fun fun fun. I am looking forward to laying by a lot of pools.

Great Grandma's house

We just got back from Great Grandma's house. What a Strange trip. I got a wild hair on Sunday and decided I wanted to take the girls and head for Gmas for a couple days. So Rob packed us up and Monday morning away we went. Once we got there gma told us that my great uncle Ray had passed and that my parents were gonna jump in the car and drive down for the service. What strange timing! That elongated our trip by a few days. So we spent a few days playing in the flood irrigation water (Adds LOVED it) and shopping and sliding down her play slide in to the baby pool. Fun! This is definitely a set up we will be getting for our own house. Thanks Squeak!
Then on Thursday Mom and Dad got there after driving the whole 16 hours in ONE DAY. We went to the service on Saturday, and I am not a fan of funerals, but this was a really good funeral. 4 of his children spoke and each did a really great job. It gave me insight in to his life that I didn't have before and that was interesting. Then we went out to my Uncle Russell's with some of my other aunts and uncles and that was fun.
I think Addison's favorite part was the flood irrigating with Great Gma. oh and bossing Squeak and Great Gma to no end. She would throw the ball and then go to Squeak or Gr. Gma and push them and tell them to go get the ball. Silly Bossy thing. lol Then she would go to Great Grandma's chair and grab her hand, pull her out of the chair and then push her buns and tell her "go! now!" as a mother I cringed, but GG thought it hilarious. lol
I have to apologize to my cousin Ashley. She brought her adorable 13 month old Ella to visit. Addison was not having her. I have no idea why. I have never seen that behavior before and I promise I am not one of those moms who is usually oblivious to this sort of thing. I pay attention. So sweetie Ella, sorry your cousin Addison was meanish. You however were adorable and sweet.

Piggie piggie

Allie has really come in to her own and eats almost as much as Addison I think. Today she had a bowl of spanish rice, some mango and then the chicken Addi didn't eat. Piggie! and I caught her on tape with this apple that started out Addison's and then I am not entirely sure how Allie ended up with it, but it was so funny, I took a little clip. Hungry monkey!

My baby is Big.

Allie just finished a whole bowl of chicken and stars soup, along with a bowl of peaches. She can now get to anywhere she wants and can stand up anywhere anytime. and last night...sob sob... she stood up in her crib and was standing there waiting for me to come see her. waaaaaaaaaa
I am so sad. Why do they have to grow so fast. You are so precious and so sweet and I just want you to stay babies forever. SO Girls! Stop getting so big!!!
