Well, it's official.....we got in to Gregg Anderson Academy! Yay!!!!!!
I feel much better about the prospect of Kindergarten now. :)))
We received our acceptance letter and I cancelled the rest of the day and came home to tell Robbie. Excited does not begin to explain how we feel.
GAA is a new school in our district, last year was the first year....It is three miles away from our house in the opposite direction of Sundown, the school we are zoned for. Three miles is TOTALLY doable and we are excited to have her at the new school. It is a STEM school, which means an emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, we will see in time what that all means!
The other huge perk of GAA is that they require uniforms. We have a two sided sheet of all the requirements to be in code....they are SERIOUS! LOL But basically it boils down to this....she must wear a collared shirt every day and tops can be either solid navy blue, gray, white or burgundy and bottoms must be either navy blue, khaki, or black.
I have shopping to do!
I kinda hoped against hope she would get in, so as far back as last year I have been buying things that would work when I see them on clearance. :) These shorts are GAP Kids purchased for $2.70 each and the top is clearance Target. Yay for sale prices! I hit the Children's place website last night after Corey next door told me they were having a crazy sale....that helped too!
Anyway, we are really excited about Kindergarten now and Addison is OVER THE MOON about the idea. She cannot wait to start!
Another exciting development, I taught her to tie her shoes this morning.
I told her she could have Converse Jack Purcell's, (she had no idea what they were) but was excited about "school shoes". She learned this morning and I ordered her a pair this afternoon. Good Job Addison!

I am obsessed with school uniforms. I am going to need to see "the list" of dress code rules asap. And all appropriate sizes.
I can't believe she learned to tie her shoes in ONE day. That's awesome.
Cora, too, must wear a uniform to school this year. I, unlike you, am not that prepared.
Glad she got into the school you wanted! I know how stressful that can be.
